Engineer for engineers. Inventor. Creator. Trailblazer. Founding team member — more than once. I don't just build systems; I define the ground they run on.
Built from scratch,
running in production.
Monorepo of everything running in my home lab — Raspberry Pi nodes, Kubernetes on Multipass VMs, SaltStack, Ansible provisioning, and Telegram bot services — stitched together as git subtrees.
Open source Python package with performance-critical utilities written in Rust. My first published library.
Safety check-in system on Raspberry Pi. If a scheduled check-in is missed, Telegram alerts go out. Packaged on Docker Hub.
Home lab gateway with dual interfaces — a web dashboard and a two-way SMS channel. Hub for speaker-pi, sensor-pi, and bookmarks-pi.
REST API for a GPIO HAT with six live sensors: internal temp, external temp, luminosity, humidity, human presence (motion), and barometric pressure.
REST API for internet radio playback and scheduled voice commands piped to Google Home. Cron-driven automation built in.
Long-running exercise repo — 440+ commits of algorithms, data structures, and database work across Python, C++, Rust, and Go. Where I sharpen the fundamentals.
R&D sandbox for new tech — Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes (including microk8s), PyO3 Python↔Rust bindings, Go, C++, and robotics experiments, plus Linux tooling notes.
7 US Patents across
two companies.
A service and infrastructure architecture for simulating and testing distributed computing environments at scale. Invented at Microsoft.
Cross-company collaboration between Microsoft and MCI (now Verizon) to patent a conferencing delivery architecture.
A five-patent suite covering the full stack: LDAP client, server-side brokering, message routing, and the API for devices with limited processing capacity.
35 years forging
infrastructure.
I'm a senior SRE and platform engineer based in the Bay Area with over three decades of experience building systems that operate at internet scale. My career spans the full arc of computing — from mainframes, midrange systems, and embedded hardware to cloud-native platforms — through some of the most demanding infrastructure environments in the industry.
I've filed 7 US patents — spanning computing simulation environments, conferencing infrastructure, and LDAP systems for constrained devices. I've also led projects and teams, pairing hands-on engineering with project management. Outside of work I run an active homelab on Raspberry Pi nodes, experiment with SDR, microcontrollers, and electronics, and publish open source tools.
Core stack: C/C++, Python, Go, Kubernetes, Terraform, GCP / AWS / Azure.
Let's work
together.
Open to senior SRE, platform engineering, and Software development opportunities. Also happy to discuss open source collaboration or consulting.
